Tomorrow I attempt to break the Guinness World Record for “Most Leaves Raked in 1 minute” in partnership with NeighborWorks Boise who puts on Rake up Boise, Paint the Town, and other activities that help make Boise one of the best cities in the world to live in. Put a high tech workforce and a generous community together and you get some amazing results.
Next weekend is Rake up Boise and we’ll be encouraging folks not just people to sign up to rake leaves, but to have their yards raked! Boise is a very generous community and we want to make sure all who need help get it.
I didn’t create this record but it appears it’s never been broken before. I think I’ll be able to rake tens of thousands of leaves in 1 minute so it’s a good thing this one is based on weight. The leaves have to be dry, dead, free of debris, and bagged within a minute for them to count. The minimum mark to hit is 1 kg of leaves. I don’t think it would be so hard other than I walked and jogged 20 miles yesterday with a pool cue on my finger so my body may be too sore to move as fast as I’d like. I still think I’ll be able to pull off my 29th Guinness World Record though.
